Bravo to GVEC—an electric and internet cooperative in Texas—for their April Fools’ joke about testing out AI linemen. Delighted customers left many comments on the Facebook post, including:
- “I think John Connor warned about this” (referring to the Terminator movies)
- “Could you imagine… the power line goes down and then the robot goes offline and then they gotta call a guy who will call the guy to come fix the robot to fix the power line.”
- “Send the cute one to my house.”
- “Good one GVEC! I am sorry but bots cannot replace our linemen… they are great!”
